In this blog, we'll guide you through the optimal setup for using iConvNet Dispatch at your workplace, sometimes referred to as your base station.
iConvNet Dispatch is a powerful tool designed for managing and coordinating radio users on a private Push-To-Talk (PTT) network. It provides a centralized console that allows dispatch operators to monitor, communicate, and manage multiple radios in real-time.
Dispatch is ideal for industries such as: logistics, public safety, event management and all other industries with multiple team members. Dispatch will enhance your operational efficiency, assisting dispatchers in efficiently managing tasks and providing rapid support to the frontline.
iConvNet Dispatch Communication Capabilities
From the iConvNet Dispatch console, the dispatch operator can communicate with the following types of devices when properly configured:
- Dispatch to PoC radios
- Dispatch to Smartphones
- Dispatch to LMR (UHF / VHF) radios
- Dispatch to Smartphone, PoC radios and LMR (UHF / VHF) radios simultaneously.
Dispatch Set-Up Considerations
Before setting up iConvNet Dispatch, you should consider the following:
- What type of devices are you dispatching to? (PoC, LMR, Smartphones). If dispatching to Smartphones and PoC radios, you will also need to activate the iConvNet PoC Application for those devices. However, Dispatching to LMR will also require a DR10 Gateway.
- Carefully consider how you intend to organize your communication groups across your teams. How do you intend to execute your chain of command? Do you have multiple teams that each require their own dispatcher? Planning an effective organogram can help. Typically, small teams do not need more than one dispatch operator. Planning your groups in this manner will ensure optimal communications.
Components for Your Convenient Dispatch Operations
At Expert Mobile, we carry everything you need to set-up ANY configuration of base station you require for dispatch. Whether you're operating an amateur base station or a military-grade base station, we have the equipment and expertise to support you. However, for the purpose of this blog, we're simply showing you how you can improve the convenience of your iConvNet Dispatch operations.
With iConvNet Dispatch, you can simply click and hold the "Push-to-Talk" button on the application's screen and speak directly into your computer's microphone. Incoming transmissions will play through your computer's speakers.
However, to improve this operation, you should consider investing on additional equipment as shown in the illustration below:
Single Foot Switch
Improve your Dispatch operations with a hands-free communication solution. This foot switch allows you to activate the radio without using your hands, enabling efficient multitasking.
Triple Foot Switch
This is a triple foot switch with a variety of custom functions. Each pedal can be assigned to any key or combination of keys via the software provided, allowing you to combine various actions into one simple step on a pedal.
USB Desk Microphone
Optimize your dispatch operations with a desk microphone. This mic can be very helpful in simplifying your PTT operations, so you don't have to click on the computer screen when you need to talk.

Cell boosters can significantly improve the coverage of a PoC base station by amplifying weak cellular signals. They work by capturing existing signals with an external antenna, amplifying them, and then rebroadcasting the enhanced signal within a specific area. This ensures that your PoC base station has stronger, more reliable connectivity, even in areas with poor cellular reception.
