Bridging UHF and VHF Radios with the Inrico DR10

When two companies recently merged, they faced a significant challenge: one company had 30 UHF radios, while the other had 40 VHF radios. Replacing all these perfectly functional radios to match frequencies would have been a costly and time-consuming endeavor. Thankfully, Inrico Canada had a smarter solution – the Inrico DR10.


The Challenge: UHF and VHF radios do not Seamlessly talk to each other

The companies needed a way for their different radio systems to communicate without breaking the bank. Replacing one set of radios entirely would have been very expensive and time-consuming. Instead, we introduced the Inrico DR10, a device designed to make UHF and VHF radios work together seamlessly.

For various reasons, UHF (Ultra High Frequency) radios and VHF (Very High Frequency) radios operate on different frequency bands, which makes direct communication between them impossible without some form of intermediary technology.


The Solution: Inrico DR10

We rolled out the Inrico DR10, a device designed to streamline communications between UHF and VHF radios. This innovative technology bridged the gap between the two frequency bands, allowing for seamless interaction between the radios. By installing the DR10s, we saved the companies a substantial amount of money and avoided the hassle of replacing all their radios.



Expanding the Scope: From Local to Nationwide Communication

Initially, the goal was to connect the two Calgary facilities of the merged company. However, upon discovering the DR10's capability for nationwide communication, the scope of the project expanded. The companies decided to include their Vancouver facility as well. Now, all locations are interconnected with push-to-talk functionality, ensuring smooth operations across the board.
